Nikon AF-S DX Micro-Nikkor 85mm f/3.5G ED VR review / cameralabs.com
The AF-S DX Micro-Nikkor 85mm f/3.5G ED VR was Nikon's first macro-lens designed specifically for DX-bodies. And it's only the second macro lens that offers image-stabilization following its larger cousin, the AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED. As an AF-S model, it'll autofocus on any Nikon body, but again it's only optically-corrected for DX-format DSLRs.

Manfrotto MKC3-H01 tripod review / trustedreviews.com
Lightweight, extremely portable and yet relatively robust, the MKC3-H01 is undoubtedly a quality bit of kit. Built to support up to 1.5kg, it’ll easily cope with anything from an advanced compact to a compact system camera to a mid-weight DSLR and lens. If you’re looking for a tripod that won’t weigh you down for use in calm conditions then the MKC3-H01 ticks all the right boxes.

Panasonic Lumix GX1 review / trustedreviews.com
The Panasonic Lumix GX1 is an excellent enthusiast-level compact system camera that offers plenty of flexibility and customisation options in a small and stylish package. On top of this, build quality is excellent and image quality rarely disappoints. Overall, it’s a camera we have no hesitation in heartily recommending. If the £750 asking price for the GX1 and Lumix 'X' 14-42mm powered zoom package reviewed here puts it out of your price range then bear in mind that the GX1 can also be purchased with a standard 14-42mm kit zoom for around £200 less.

Nikon 1 V1 / J1 Review / dpreview.com
Nikon's entry into the mirrorless interchangeable lens market late last year was widely anticipated, but the products that were finally announced took a lot of people by surprise. Nikon has created an entirely new system based around a relatively small sensor, that's about 30% of the size of those used in the company's DX-format SLRs. The system is spearheaded by two cameras - the Nikon 1 J1 and 1 V1. The J1 is the entry-level model, and the V1 is aimed at a slightly more advanced user, but both cameras are intended essentially for beginners upgrading from compact cameras or cameraphones, and who find the size and complexity of a DSLR intimidating.

Samsung NX200 review / trustedreviews.com
Samsung continues to impress us with its digital camera output. The NX200 builds quite significantly on the strengths of its predecessor to deliver punchy images bursting with detail. While the NX200’s higher than average resolution is likely to remain the headline-grabbing spec, the real selling point is overall image quality, which is undoubtedly a match for many DSLRs costing more money. Ergonomics, while sharp, clean and modern, could be a little more hand-friendly though. That said, if you’re looking for an APS-C equipped compact system camera then the NX200 delivers enough to warrant a place on your shortlist.

Nikon AF-S DX Micro-Nikkor 40mm f/2.8G review / cameralabs.com
The AF-S DX Micro-Nikkor 40mm f/2.8G is the most affordable macro lens for Nikon's range of DX format DSLRs, and as an AF-S model, it'll autofocus on any Nikon body. Yes you read this right: it's even cheaper than any lens capable of 1:1 magnification from Sigma or Tamron. If you think that doesn't bode well for the performance of this little lens read on: there's a pleasant surprise waiting for you!

Ennek szerencsére túl nagy jelentősége nincs, csupán a méretkülönbségek szemléltetése végett lett volna érdekes pár fénykép a gépegyüttesről. Részletes tesztünk a G12-ről itt olvasható (érdemes lehet mostani írásunkkal párhuzamosan megnyitni).

Kipróbáltuk a FourThirds rendszer egyik legolcsóbb objektívjét, amely többnyire a kit-ek fő alkotóeleme. A 14-42 mm-es alapzoom nem rendelkezik kiemelkedő tulajdonságokkal, építési minősége mégis példás lehet más gyártók felé is.

The Canon PowerShot G1 X is a compact camera with a large sensor, 4x zoom, optical viewfinder and articulated screen packed into a metal body. Announced in January 2012, the G1 X joins the PowerShot G series, but rather than replacing the existing G12, it's positioned as a new premium model - because while the body is immediately identifiable as a member of the G-series, the sensor inside is closer to what you'd find in a DSLR or ILC.

Canon PowerShot G1 X Preview / steves-digicams.com
For 2012, Canon U.S.A. has unveiled two new PowerShot ELPH series point-and-shoot cameras, along with a new flagship PowerShot G-series model. The G1 X will be positioned for advanced amateurs and professionals looking for a walk-around point-and-shoot model and offers a large 1.5-inch 14.3-megapixel CMOS image sensor and an updated 4x (28-112mm equivalent) optical zoom lens. This new sensor is 6.3 times larger than the sensor used on previous G-series cameras, like the PowerShot G12, and rests between micro Four Thirds and APS-C sensors for size comparison; 18.7x14mm, similar height as an APS-C sensor and same surface area. Canon also claims that they have used the same CMOS technology in the G1 X as found in their EOS line of dSLRs.

Fujifilm X-Pro1 Hands-on Preview / dpreview.com
When Fujifilm announced its FinePix X100 retro-styled large-sensor compact at Photokina 2010, it captured the imagination of serious photographers in a way the company seemed not to have quite anticipated. The X100's combination of 'traditional' dial-based handling and outstanding image quality brought widespread plaudits, making it something of a cult classic despite its undeniable flaws. The subsequent addition to the range of the X10 compact, with its bright, manually-controlled zoom lens, has cemented Fujifilm's resurgence as a brand worthy of serious attention.

Canon PowerShot G1 X Hands-on Preview / dpreview.com
Anyone watching the emergence of mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras will have spent much of the last year patiently waiting for Canon and Nikon to show their hands. Nikon clearly decided such cameras didn't need large sensors, and now it appears Canon has concluded they don't need interchangeable lenses. Both these moves make sense for companies wanting dedicated photographers to keep buying DSLRs, but Canon's approach is likely to be of more interest to those enthusiasts.
